Drawer Faces – Building A Custom Desk

Posted on January 29, 2025

Every little detail matters when it comes to furniture building, and aligning drawer faces is one of those final touches that can make or break the look of a project. In my latest video, I tackle a key step in my daughter’s custom desk build—getting both drawer faces perfectly aligned for a clean, professional finish.

Last time, I adjusted the Blum drawer rails to ensure smooth operation, but the faces of the drawers still weren’t sitting quite right. In this episode, I take them off, fix past mistakes, and reattach them with proper spacing. It’s a subtle but essential part of the process that makes all the difference in the final look of the desk.

This step required some careful adjustments, but the result is worth it. A well-aligned drawer face isn’t just about looks—it also ensures that the desk functions as intended. With this part done, the project is coming together, but there’s still more work ahead!

Check out the video to see the process in action and follow along as I bring this custom desk one step closer to completion.
