Loft Bed – Part 6 – Ladder

Posted on January 12, 2022

It keeps going and going and going. The Loft Bed Project is still in progress and in part 6 of this series I’m building the ladder. I’m in the home stretch now and there are just a few final touches to get in place before sanding and staining can take place.

I really enjoyed this piece of the project, especially routing the dados into the legs of the ladder. I was really sure I was going to screw at least one up, but they were extremely easy to do and turned out great. I do wish I had a cordless trim router. That cord was definitely getting in the way. Hopefully in the future I will be able to invest in a cordless version.

With the ladder out of the way, I just have a few pieces left. I need to build the cubby/shelf at the head of the bed, cut all the slats, and cap off the posts. Then I can finally sand, stain, and put poly on EVERYTHING!

Make sure to follow me on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to keep up with all my latest projects!
